The only fruits that «shot» at a record price this season — this is cherries and especially cherries.

According to the agency, the cherry season ended at the level of 150-220 UAH/kg from the garden producer, cherries – 110-130 UAH/kg. За все годы Независимости такая цена на черешню была впервые, в другие годы она составляла максимум 60 грн/кг, а в прошлом году – 50-70 грн/кг. Cherries were sold in the range of UAH 80-120/kg from the field.
«The main reason for such growth is the crop failure, probably the largest in recent years due to frosts, losses of cherries amounted to 40-50% on farms on average, cherries up to 90%,» said Guseva. — Плоды последних при заморозке буквально сметали с рынков, хотя такая же проблема имела место и в других странах. Поэтому потенциал посадки и производства черешни в Украине, особенно для заморозки/переработки, остается очень большим.»
